Product Description
PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol) is one of the most commonly used plastics in the world, but one of the least known. PETG is commonly mistaken for lexan or plexiglass due to its similar physical characteristics, (clarity and impact resistance)and may be used as an alternative to acrylic (plexiglass) and polycarbonate (Lexan) due to its relatively low cost and ease of fabrication. It is a clear, can be thermoformed (heat formed), can be cut, punched, stapled, glued, welded, has tremendous impact resistance, (will not break like acrylic), resist tearing and chemicals, along with being easy to print on. In thicker gauges the material can be used for furniture, displays, machine shields, viewing ports and numerous other applications. PETG can be easily machined with standard woodworking tools and joined with mechanical fasteners such as screws, rivets, nails, blots, etc.
It resist cracking that acrylic is prone to and does not turn white or discolor when cold formed. PETG is primarily made for indoor applications where there is not constant direct exposure to sunlight, it is a suitable choice for indoor applications requiring transparent, impact resistant materials.
Sheets are rolled and box for shipment. Plastic peel off protective film on both sides.
